Vernon Amos

Assistant Pastor

Elder Vernon Amos, Jr. is a kind-hearted individual with a humorous disposition. He has a deep passion for youth and loves serving in ministry, never hesitating to lend a helping hand.

Elder Amos is a native of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He is the son of Bishop Vernon Amos Sr. and Lady Aretta Amos. He has 3 siblings Vernetta, Valencia, Maudie. Growing up as a Pastor’s kid, he has served the church wholeheartedly in every capacity of ministry. He moved to Richmond, VA, in 2002 to attend ECPI University, where he earned his associate degree in Computer Network Technology in 2004.

He began attending Greater Refuge Church, where he continued to grow spiritually under the ministry of Apostle Samuel R. Peters, Sr. Elder Amos served faithfully at GRC as a drummer, youth leader, and deacon, and ultimately accepted his call to preach in 2013. He was soon promoted to the role of Elder. In October 2023, he was appointed Assistant Pastor Elect, a role he will hold until August 2024. He is currently enrolled at the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University and is on track to receive his Master of Divinity in 2028.

He and his lovely wife, Tiffany, have been married since 2010. They are the proud parents of Tristan and Taliya. Vernon is also an entrepreneur, owning both Amos Images Photography and ProMac East. Beyond his pastoral duties, Elder Amos coaches his son’s football team, participates in a bowling league, enjoys shooting basketball and fishing.
